Bashkiria will host 24th Republican Kurai Festival
Bashkiria will host the 24th Republican Kurai Festival, which will take place in Oktyabrsky on May 16-17.
The festival is dedicated to the national musical instrument, the kurai, and aims to preserve and develop performing traditions, support and develop family creativity traditions, and strengthen ties between generations, the press service of the Republican Center for Folk Art of the Republic of Bashkiria reports.
The program includes: a competition among amateur and professional kurai players - soloists and ensembles; a creative laboratory; and a final event with the participation of the winners and guests of the festival. The competition will be held in several age categories, and each participant will be able to demonstrate their musical skills. The performances of the competition participants will be assessed by a jury of famous kurai players, masters of art, folklorists, experts in folk art, and winners of the grand prix of the Kurai festival competitions.
Applications will be accepted until May 10.
