In Ufa, the National Library will hold its traditional Biblionight. The annual tradition of the Russian library community will be held for the 14th time, dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland and the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The theme of this year is “Our Heroes”. The event will be held under the motto “There is no family in Russia that doesn't remember its hero.” This evening, libraries will turn into sites of memory and veneration of heroes. In addition to traditional lectures, excursions, meetings with writers, and masterclasses, the Biblionight program will be supplemented by themed events.
This evening, the National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan will present an extensive creative and educational program. The event will begin at 18.00 on the square in front of the main building. Guests of the holiday can expect creative performances, fascinating exhibitions, master classes, bookcrossing points, and book sales.
As part of the special project "Memory Board of the Defenders of the Motherland", participants will be able to share photos of their loved ones - participants of the Great Patriotic War and the SMO, thereby telling about the heroes of the past and present.
A special place in the Biblionight program will be occupied by the memorial evening "Hero of Our Time," dedicated to Eduard Khizbullin, press attaché of HC Salavat Yulaev. Family members, colleagues, and friends will share warm memories of the hero who died in the SMO.
The exhibition "Preserving the Past - Protecting the Future" will present lifetime editions of Bashkir front-line writers, published in Arabic Latin script, from the collections of the Manuscripts and Rare Editions Department. Those who died at the front became the first and last lifetime editions.
Member of the Union of Writers of Russia and Bashkortostan, Vladimir Kuzmichev, will present the author's program, "Remembering the Heroes." The poet will read patriotic poems, including those dedicated to the participants of the SMO, accompanied by music from invited musicians Anatoly Polyanin and Yuri Tumanov.
At the lecture "The Blockade Muse of Leningrad," the lecturer will talk about the life and work of the poetess Olga Berggolts, who spent all the days of the blockade in her hometown.
At the "Weapons of Victory" book exhibition, an extensive collection of publications dedicated to military equipment and weapons of the Great Patriotic War will be on display. Visitors will be able to familiarize themselves with literature about air fleets, submarines, surface ships, armored vehicles, and small arms of that period. A significant place in the exposition will be occupied by literature about the development of the domestic military-industrial complex in the post-war years and in modern times. Of particular value are publications that feature outstanding designers and engineers whose developments significantly influenced the development of military equipment and weapons for many years to come.
The family quiz "Science, Technology, Discoveries" will introduce young readers and their parents to the history of the development of military equipment and military thought.
A separate area is provided for children, where masterclasses, quizzes, and intellectual games will be held.
