Russia approves cultural strategy

The Russian government approved a new Strategy for state cultural policy until 2030, and the corresponding order was signed on September 11, 2024.

The priority areas for implementing the strategy include providing state support, stimulating and encouraging cultural activities, developing a multi-level system for training creative personnel, creating conditions for comprehensive development, creative self-realization, and stimulating educational and patriotic work among young people based on museums, clubs, and cultural centers.

One of the key tasks is also to fully integrate new regions of the country into the Russian cultural and humanitarian space.

In addition, the priorities include preserving and supporting Russia's ethnocultural and linguistic diversity and updating and developing cultural institutions in large and small cities and villages.

The Russian Government's chairman, Mikhail Mishustin, announced the strategy's approval at a meeting with deputy prime ministers on September 16. He emphasized that the government is working to create conditions for preserving traditional spiritual and moral values by the president's decree. The strategy is aimed at providing a single cultural space for the country to strengthen its sovereignty and improve the quality of life of citizens.

The dynamics of investment growth in the industry reflect the attitude to cultural policy issues on the part of the state, the Head, and the government. Let us recall that over the past 6 years, spending on culture in Bashkiria has increased by almost 60%. The total consolidated budget for the cultural sector, according to the forecast for 2024, is 14.486 billion rubles. In 2023, it amounted to 14.410 billion; in 2022 - 12.705 billion; in 2021 - 11.701 billion; in 2020 - 11.619 billion; in 2019 - 11.794 billion rubles.

Thanks to such support, 120 million visits to cultural events amounted to 90 million, exceeding the planned 90 million. According to this indicator, Bashkortostan is among the country's top three region leaders.
