A unique exhibition, “CIS Peoples Cultural Heritage,” will be presented at the XVII Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States, held from September 17 to 19 in Ufa.
“The Commonwealth of Independent States is a huge multinational space; each of the peoples is rich in its creative heritage - epics, literature, art, traditions, and customs that have seen the light of day as a book. Demonstrating all the cultural diversity of the CIS countries in one exhibition is not easy. Nevertheless, the best and most informative books on the history and culture of the peoples of the CIS will be presented at the exhibition from the library collections,” the organizers said.
The following publications will be presented at the National Library exhibition: the Kazakh heroic epic “Koblandy-batyr” and the Turkmen romantic epic “Khurlukga and Khemra. Sayat and Khemra, the Kyrgyz folk epic Manas and other rare books published at the beginning of the 20th century in the territory of modern Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and other CIS countries, many books by Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and Tajik authors published in Russian, Bashkir and Tatar languages. The exhibition will be supplemented by books dedicated to folklore, creativity, and national costumes.
The event aims to develop general cultural competence, introduce the people of the CIS countries to the world of literature, promote the culture of reading, and foster friendship between people.
The organizers of the Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS Member States are the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
