Bashkiria - leader in modernized cinemas

At an operational government meeting, the Minister of Culture of Bashkiria Amina Shafikova discussed the development of film production and distribution. Today, 161 cinemas operate in Bashkortostan, 49 of which are municipal. Since 2015, active cooperation has been underway with the Cinema Fund; 56 cinemas have been modernized.

Since 2019, 38 cinemas have been modernized within the framework of the national project "Culture" for 211.0 million rubles - in this indicator, Bashkiria is the region leader. By the end of this year, another 5 municipal cinemas are expected to open in the Askinsky, Bakalinsky, Ermekeyevsky, Miyakinsky, and Nurimanovsky districts for a total of 45 million rubles.

Film distribution covers all municipalities except four (Krasnokamsk, Salavat, Ufa districts, and the city of Agidel), and in the most remote corners, films are shown by a cinema mobile.

“The film distribution industry experienced problems after introducing sanctions and the departure of foreign films throughout the country. But this year, film distribution organizations have 80% of domestic film products, and attendance is improving significantly. Since the beginning of this year, Bashkortostan cinemas have had 2.5 million visits, which is 900 thousand more than in 2022. The work will continue,” the Minister of Culture noted.
