Moscow magazine introduced its readers to Bashkir literature

In the sixth issue of the Moscow magazine “Literary Acquaintances,” a large section is devoted to the literature of Bashkortostan. It’s called: “Bashkir literary notebook. Book in a magazine" and occupies over 130 pages of the publication. The works of Aigiz Baimukhametov, Kamil Ziganshin, Flyur Galimov, Amir Aminev, Munir Kunafin, Gulnur Yakupova, Venus Iskhakov, Leonid Sokolov, and others are posted here - in total, more than 20 authors, prose writers, and poets. The “Bashkir Literary Notebook” compiler was Leonid Sokolov, a Union of Writers of the Republic member.

“The Book in the Journal” opens with a detailed article by a member of the Union of Writers of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Zaki Alibaev, “Modern Bashkir Literature: at the junction of two continents,” which analyzes the formation of literature in Bashkortostan, starting from its inception, from the poems of the national hero Salavat Yulaev and ending with the present time. The “Bashkir Literary Notebook” ends with an article by Pavel Krenev, secretary of the Union of Writers of Russia, “There are development opportunities!” It notes, in particular:

“The path to the formation and development of national Bashkir literature is complicated. Both poetry and prose of the wonderful and talented people of the Republic of Bashkortostan began the path of growth from the original creations of the folk epic: legends, tales, and tales that have lived for centuries in the thick of the people. Gradually transforming into more and more new verbal forms, acquiring more prosperous historical subjects, oral colloquial forms transformed into extensive folk tales, in which the Bashkir people and their neighbors began to show interest: the Urals, Tatars, and Russian settlers of Siberia. This was the beginning of the emergence of the now-excellent Bashkir literature.

Today’s publication of the following regional notebook in the magazine “Literary Acquaintances” can be called a landmark for the literary community of Bashkiria - it presents poems, novellas, and stories of modern national writers to the judgment of the creative community. It will probably be engaging to closely examine some of the works presented and give them a reader’s assessment.”
