Ildar Abdrazakov performed on “Russian Seasons” opening in Brazil

The “Russian Seasons” project opened on the stage of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro with a joint concert by opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov and the laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition: mezzo-soprano Zinaida Tsarenko, pianist Sergei Davydchenko, and violinist Daniil Kogan. The symphony orchestra, conducted by Denis Vlasenko, accompanied the performers. The Russian government's Telegram channel reported this.

Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova noted that the “Russian Seasons” of modern times, taking a historical idea as a basis, significantly expanded the general principle of the project. Russia’s key partner countries now host large-scale tours of world-famous musical and theater groups, thematic exhibitions, film premieres, and master classes by prominent cultural figures.

Olga Lyubimova thanked the Brazilian partners for their assistance in implementing the project. Brazil is the first Latin American country Russian Seasons has visited, which, according to her, indicates a high level of mutual understanding and respect between Russia and Brazil.

The history of “Russian Seasons” originates in Sergei Diaghilev's enterprise of the same name, which, at the beginning of the 20th century, allowed foreign audiences to enjoy the performances of outstanding Russian musicians, opera singers, and ballet dancers.
