Denis Matsuev's music festival will occur in Ufa

The “Denis Matsuev Presents: Dialogue of Generations” music festival will occur in Ufa from May 28 to 31, the year of the 450th anniversary of the capital of Bashkortostan. Bright musicians will come to Ufa with the People's Artist of Russia, the outstanding Russian pianist Denis Matsuev.

On the first day, George Harliono (piano), Stefania Pospehina (violin), Maria Zaitseva (cello), and Sofia Wieland (flute) will perform classical works with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic under the direction of chief conductor Dmitry Kryukov.

The third day's program will feature traditional jazz and jazz improvisations on classical themes. Soloists: Denis Matsuev, piano; Andrey Ivanov, double bass; Alexander Zinger, drums; Borislav Strulev, cello; Arthur Naziullin, clarinet; Ekaterina Mochalova, domra. On the fourth day, laureates of international competitions will play: George Harliono (piano / Great Britain), Marcel Tadokoro (piano / France), and Ravil Islyamov (violin / Moscow).

Denis Matsuev was born in 1975 in Irkutsk and graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory. The musician's rapid ascent began in 1998 after his victory at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Denis Matsuev's concert programs are distinguished by their high quality, innovative, creative concepts, and depth of artistic interpretation. Despite the exceptional demand abroad, the artist considers the development of philharmonic art in the regions of Russia to be his main priority and presents a significant portion of his concert programs, especially premieres, in Russia.

Denis Matsuev has a creative friendship with the State Orchestra of Bashkortostan. The symphony group's collaboration with the famous pianist began in Ufa in 2021 with a charity concert. The following year, they opened the 101st season of the Moscow Philharmonic together. In April 2024, joint performances took place on the stages of the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and the Concert Hall of the Mariinsky Theater.
