Denis Matsuev and Bashkiria State Orchestra performed at Moscow Conservatory

Denis Matsuev and the State Orchestra of Bashkortostan performed in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev and the State Orchestra of Bashkortostan have a long-standing creative friendship: since 2021, they often perform together, including at the opening of the 101st season of the Moscow Philharmonic. However, they performed on the same stage in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory for the first time.

The concert for the Moscow public was one of the most anticipated: the legendary pianist had not performed on the main conservatory stage for a long time, and the State Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus was already expected in its new “academic” capacity.

Denis Matsuev selected two piano concertos for the concert program: Concerto No. 17 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Piano Concerto by Edvard Grieg. The Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, maestro Dmitry Kryukov, performed at the conductor's stand.

In the second part, the orchestra presented to the Moscow public the works of Claude Debussy - three symphonic sketches, "The Sea" and Ottorino Respighi - the symphonic poem "Pines of Rome," which maximally revealed the skill of the orchestra under the direction of Dmitry Kryukov.

The discerning Moscow public and the Russian musical elite have already praised the concert on the sidelines as one of the most outstanding this season. This was confirmed by the audience's endless applause in gratitude to the greatest pianist and the State Orchestra of Bashkortostan, which again worthily represented the republic at the federal level.

On April 23, Denis Matsuev and the State Symphony Orchestra RB, conducted by Dmitry Kryukov, will perform the same program in the Mariinsky Theater's Concert Hall.
