On January 16, the Folk Art Week “Living Traditions of Bashkortostan” began in Moscow as part of the international exhibition “Russia”. On the territory of the stand of the Republic of Bashkortostan in pavilion No. 75 of VDNKh, every day from January 16 to 21, a rich program will be presented, thanks to which visitors to the exhibition will get an idea of the national culture of the republic and will be able to plunge into the authentic atmosphere of the traditions of the Bashkir people and the historical heritage of one of the largest regions of Russia.
As part of the Folk Art Week, presentations of national costume, a traditional musical instrument - kurai, the famous historical weapon of the “Northern Cupids” - a bow for shooting, and products of decorative and applied art of Bashkir masters will take place. Guests of the exhibition will have a unique opportunity to participate in various master classes, where they will be told about the traditions of handicrafts, including the production of mini-bibs, Bashkir women's headdresses, traditional jewelry, Bashkir shawls, dolls, and amulets, leather stamping, embroidery, weaving. In addition, ample opportunities to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of the Bashkir people will be provided on the interactive platforms of the republic’s stand.
A pleasant surprise will be the drawing of valuable prizes, which will take place on January 19. At the start of the Year of the Family, announced by the President of Russia, families who attended master classes from January 16 to 19 and received tokens will participate in the drawing. The winners will be awarded valuable prizes. In addition, many other prizes will be raffled off among the participants of the master classes, each of which contains the deep meaning, richness, and originality of Bashkir culture.
On November 4, 2023, the international exhibition and forum “Russia” opened at VDNKh in Moscow. It presents the sites of all 89 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. At the Bashkortostan stand, designed in the shape of a spaceship, virtual tours, thematic events, and much more are organized for visitors. On December 3, within the framework of the exhibition, the Day of the Republic of Bashkortostan took place. The exhibition will last until April 12, 2024.
