Memorial plaque to Russian Drama Theater director, Mikhail Rabinovich, was unveiled in Ufa

On October 30, the name of the outstanding director and teacher, the unforgettable artistic director of the Russian Academic Drama Theater Mikhail Rabinovich, united art lovers. The grand opening of the memorial plaque took place in Ufa. It was installed on a house on Dostoevsky Str., 49/1, where Mikhail Rabinovich lived for 20 years.

The opening ceremony of the memorial plaque was attended by Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the State Assembly of the Republic Naufal Yanbukhtin, Executive Director of the Cathedral of Russians of Bashkortostan, City Council Deputy Pavel Vasiliev, Chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of Bashkortostan Akhtyam Abushakhmanov, Chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of the Republic Zuhra Burakaeva and others.

The creators of the memorial plaque are sculptor, Honored Artist of Bashkortostan Vladimir Lobanov, and Honored Architect of Bashkortostan Leonid Dubinsky. The Russian Drama Theater took over the financing.

Many people gathered for the ceremony - friends, relatives, colleagues, and admirers of theatrical art. At the end of the ceremony, Mikhail Rabinovich’s wife, Galina, thanked all those present.

Fresh flowers were laid at the memorial plaque.

Mikhail Rabinovich is an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan. Born in 1940 in Ufa. Graduated from the Higher Theater School. From 1976 to 1983, he was the Dagestan Russian Drama Theater director. After which, he returned to Ufa and, in 1984, was appointed chief director, and in 1998 - artistic director of the theater. He headed the State Academic Russian Drama Theater of the Republic of Bashkortostan for 37 years. The performances he staged received high marks from professionals and enjoyed the audience's love, becoming events in the theater world. He had a unique directorial style, a special, deep view of the world of man. His passing in January 2021 was an irreparable loss for his native theater and the entire theater community.

In August, Bashinform News Agency wrote that a tombstone monument to the master was unveiled at the Southern Cemetery in Ufa.
