On October 30, a memorial plaque to the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Bashkortostan Mikhail Rabinovich will be unveiled in Ufa. The memorial plaque will be installed on Mikhail Rabinovich's house at Dostoevsky Str., 49/1.
Mikhail Rabinovich was born in 1940 in Ufa and graduated from the Shchukin Higher Theater School. From 1976 to 1983, he was director of the Dagestan Russian Drama Theater of Gorky. Afterward, he returned to Ufa and, in 1984, was appointed chief director and, in 1998 - artistic director of the theater. He headed the State Academic Russian Drama Theater of the Republic of Bashkortostan for 37 years. Mikhail Rabinovich confidently led the team to creative achievements and victories thanks to his talent, tireless care, and daily work.
“The performances he staged received high marks from professionals and enjoyed the audience's love, becoming events in the theater world. He had a unique directorial style, a special, deep view of the world. His passing in January 2021 was an irreparable loss for both his native theater and the entire theater community,” the Republic’s Ministry of Culture press service told Bashinform News Agency.
