“Ufa. This is My Land" literary competition results

In Bashkiria, the results of the literary competition of urban legends “Ufa. This is My Land." The competition received 66 applications related to the sights and culture of Ufa. 45 stories were shortlisted. For publication in the “Ufa. This is My Land” collection, the jury selected 22 stories.

The 20 winners included such works as the legend “Hamida and Karim” by Zemfira Shemchuk, “The History of the First Cathedral Mosque” by Gulsina Kondratyeva, and “The Legend of the Belaya River Embankment” by the young participant Regina Shakirova, the organizers told Bashinform. 20 winners will receive valuable prizes from sponsors, and most importantly, they will be included in the guidebook “This is My Ufa.”

The members of the jury of the literary competition were the Russian writer, critic, translator, chairman of the board of the Moscow Union of Writers of Russia, editor-in-chief of the Literary Gazette Maxim Zamshev; Director of the Federal Center for Humanitarian Practices, screenwriter and director of television documentaries Alexey Pishchulin; producer of the Federal Center for Humanitarian Practices, host of the TG channel about legends and grants “This is my land. Legends" Andrey Suleikov; TV journalist, author, and presenter of the projects “Native Land” and “Masters of Bashkiria”, tour guide Yulia Abdullina and poet, prose writer, playwright, literary translator, secretary of the Writers' Union of Russia Svetlana Churaeva.

The project is being implemented with a grant from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives with the support of the Federal Center for Humanitarian Practices, the World of Museum magazine, the Museum of the History of the City of Ufa, and the Suleiman Travel Excursion Center. Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that a literary competition, “Voice of the Epoch,” was announced in Bashkiria to create patriotic works.
