Stanislav Govorukhin Medal was established in Russia

The State Duma established the Stanislav Govorukhin medal. The medal will be awarded for merits in culture, humanitarian activities, patriotic education, and international cooperation, Bashinform News Agency reports.

“Stanislav Govorukhin, in addition to being a talented director and actor, was a patriot of our country. He loved Russia, and the country was everything to him, no matter what situations he encountered. It is important that the memory of people like Stanislav Govorukhin lives on,” said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

The medal will be a departmental award of the State Duma. It will be awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation and foreigners for their services in culture, humanitarian work, patriotic education, and international cooperation. The presentation of the medal will be carried out by the Chairman of the State Duma by decision of the Council, adopted at the request of a faction or committee.

At the time of nomination for the award, a citizen of the Russian Federation must not hold a government position or be a deputy at any level. No more than 10 people can be awarded the medal during the year. Their list will be published annually in the Parliamentary Gazette.
