As part of the Days of the Republic of Bashkortostan in St. Petersburg, a rich cultural program is provided, which will present the wealthiest heritage of Bashkir culture, history, and folklore.
As the Ministry of Culture press service told Bashinform News Agency, from August 25 to 27, Palace Square in St. Petersburg will become the center of Bashkir culture. Residents and guests of the northern capital will be able to get acquainted with the unique traditions of Bashkortostan. Nikolai Baskov, People's Artist of Russia and Bashkortostan, will headline a bright concert program with performances by masters of Arts and musical groups of the republic.
For three days from August 25 to 27, everyone will be able to get acquainted with the culture, crafts, and traditional cuisine of the Bashkir people at the goods fair of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the goose and honey gastronomic festival, which will be open from 11.00 to 21.00 on Pevchesky proezd.
In the Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic every day from 12.00 to 20.00 hours the exposition of the Museum of Polar Explorers "Sailors of Bashkortostan in the Service of the Fatherland!" The exhibition will feature items dedicated to a native of Bashkortostan, Sergei Yanovich, the creator of one of the first semi-submarines, and exhibits devoted to the history of the Republic's Naval Assembly, including models of submarines.
From August 25 to 27, from 11.00 to 22.00, the Bashkir ethnic court "Country of Nomads - the Land of Legends" will unfold on the territory of the State Academic Chapel, where they will demonstrate the original culture of the Bashkirs. Residents of St. Petersburg and guests of the city will have a unique opportunity to visit an authentic Bashkir yurt, get acquainted with the products of masters of Arts and crafts, take part in master classes, and also see the best works of the winners of the international competition of masters of the Bashkir national costume "Tamga". All activities are designed for adults and children.
Expositions “In the Heart of Eurasia. Bashkirs” and “History of the Bashkir horse” at the State Academic Chapel will be presented by the National Museum of Bashkortostan. Residents of the northern capital will be able to visit the traditional nomadic dwelling of the Bashkirs, try on an authentic national costume, and learn the secrets of embroidery, patterned weaving, carpet weaving, woodcarving, and making musical instruments.
The children's area will also work as part of the cultural program. The youngest viewers will be able to play national games, become participants in an interactive game program, and watch the brightest performances of the Bashkir State Puppet Theater "Geese-swans", "Mukha - Tsokotuha", "Stone Guest".
On August 26, from 12:00 to 22:00, an enchanting festive concert of the masters of arts of the republic, “Bashkortostan Gathers Friends,” will occur on Palace Square. Honored Artists of Russia, People's Artists of Bashkortostan Askar and Ildar Abdrazakov, and People's Artist of Russia and Bashkortostan Nikolai Baskov will be special concert guests.
As part of the Days of the Republic of Bashkortostan cultural program in St. Petersburg, a presentation of Bashkir films will take place at the State Academic Capella. For three days, residents and guests of the northern capital will see animation projects by directors Rim Sharafutdinov, Aigul Bayramgulova, and Elena Yushkova; feature films by Ainur Askarov, as well as a film by Bulat Yusupov about the people poet of Bashkortostan Rami Garipov.
