The all-Russian "Embroidered Russia" festival will be held in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, from August 17 to 21. It will bring together craftsmen from more than six regions of the country, the folk art center press service told Bashinform News Agency.
Masters will bring embroidered maps of their regions, including the Republic of Bashkortostan. The head of the Department of Interregional and International Cooperation of the Republican Center for Folk Art, Zarina Khasanova, and craftswoman Gabida Valieva will present the map of our region.
The festival's main event will be an exhibition at the Chuvash State Art Museum on August 19-20, where craftsmen will present hand-embroidered maps of their regions made using traditional ornaments and techniques of the people living in this territory.
Also, within the framework of the festival, creative laboratories and an educational program from the Russian Ethnographic Museum, a fair of products of masters of arts and crafts, and performances by folklore creative groups will be held at the sites of the city of Cheboksary.
