Exhibition "Living Heritage of Belarus" opens in Ufa

On June 27, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan hosted "The Living Heritage of Belarus" exhibition as part of the X Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus.

“The temporary exposition reveals the characteristic features of the traditional Belarusian culture of all six regions of the country: Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk, Mogilev, through a demonstration of traditional folk costume and products of folk craftsmen. And the traditional types of folk crafts are weaving and embroidery, cooperage and pottery, woodcarving, various products made from straw, vines and birch bark,” the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic told Bashinform News Agency.

Among the numerous exhibits of the exhibition "The Living Heritage of Belarus," one can note "Sopotskin Easter eggs", wooden musical instruments of the folk master Maryan Skromblevich (included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of Belarus), famous neglyubsky towels, straw "spiders" - amulets, vytinanki (the art of cutting lace patterns made of paper), shapoval products, samples of black-smoked ceramics and much more.
