On the Small Stage of the Bashkir Academic Drama Theater, the premieres of verbatim performances - “We ... Keepers” and “We ... Heirs” will occur on March 16 and 17.
Verbatim performance is a form of documentary theater based on interviews with real people. Such a theatrical technology creates the effect of presence: the viewer becomes an observer and a participant in the performance. On the stage of the Bashkir Theater, performances in this genre are staged for the first time.
The team will present a production of "We ... Keepers" on March 16, created based on the materials of the theater's summer expedition to the Zilair region of the republic. During the expedition, the villagers talked about themselves and their lives, and the actors inquisitively searched for the cultural code of what is called a nation. What unites us all and makes us unique and original? The key concepts discussed in the play are my land, language, traditions, roots, and children.
Spectators will see the verbatim “We… Heirs” on March 17, a continuation of the theme of national identity. To keep up with the times and continue connecting with their roots, modern youth writes their page in the family's history and people's. Most of the play's heroes are young people who live next to us, with whom we meet and communicate daily. That makes the discoveries more interesting because, in the daily bustle, we often do not notice the main thing in those nearby.
The following people are working on the premiere production: production director Rima Kharisova, production designer Aliya Bayramgulova, composer Ural Idelbaev, and lighting designer Tagir Akmanov.
In both parts of the dilogy, the audience will find much music. In the first part, this is local folklore, and in the “Heirs” songs from the repertoire of Altynai Valitov, Minzali Yakhina, Artur Kabirov, MS Insan, the Rukh group, Dervish Khan and Ike Yez will be performed. A peculiar ensemble of participants in the performance will achieve them.
As Bashinform News Agency was informed in the theater press service, the opinion of the play’s creators may not coincide with the idea of the characters.
