"Northern Cupids" premiere screening began in Moscow

The pre-premiere screening of the new full-length animated film "Northern Cupids" began at the Moscow Cinema House on January 29.

There was a whole house in the White Hall of the Central House of Cinema, and many families came with their children. The premiere was also visited by representatives of the cultural community and honored guests. Senator greeted the participants from Bashkortostan, Chairman of the Federation Council on Science, Education, and Culture Committee, Chairman of the Federal National Cultural Autonomy of the Bashkirs of Russia Lilia Gumerova.

In the center of the narrative of the cartoon "Northern Cupids" is the story of the Bashkirs, who become active participants in two wars: the Russian-Swedish war of 1788 and the Patriotic War of 1812. The French called the Bashkir horsemen armed with bows and arrows "Northern Cupids", comparing them with the ancient Greek deity for their bow mastery. The cartoon was created by the Ufa studio "Mukha" and the film studio "Bashkortostan" with the support of the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov.

“This is a very relevant and timely project. The events of national history in the current realities are of particular interest. Our main task is to show "Northern Cupids" in all cinemas of the republic and throughout Russia. The plans include organizing shows in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The content of the film, the characters, phrases, and mannerisms of the heroes are obvious to all residents of our republic. For the Russian audience, they will become an opportunity to get to know the culture and history of the Bashkir people more closely,” said Almaz Saetov, republican Deputy Minister of Culture.

As Bashinform News Agency previously reported, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, emphasized that “the cartoon “Northern Cupids” is especially relevant. Much of it falls into the outline of ongoing events. I am sure he will serve Russia in educating the younger generation. We want this film to become a real cultural event in our country.”

The premiere in Ufa will take place at the end of May, after which the cartoon "Northern Cupids" will be released in wide Russian distribution. The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, discussed plans for its promotion on January 26 at a meeting with Alexei Ryazantsev, Director General of the KARO cinema chain. The cartoon will acquaint the Russian audience with Bashkir animation, culture, and history of Bashkortostan.

For the first time, a full-length cartoon created in Bashkortostan will be released for Russian distribution. This cartoon is relevant for children and adults, and we must know our history, culture, and traditions. The film was simultaneously voiced in Russian and Bashkir and will be released in two languages. I hope that the audience will like the movie,” says the director of the Bashkortostan film studio Yunir Aminev.

According to the director, the work on the animation was carried out for about two years.
