In March, as part of the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the world ballet legend Rudolf Nureyev, the second season of the Rudy Dance Lab choreographic workshop will be held at the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, on the stage of which the great dancer began his career. The project will be supervised by Vyacheslav Samodurov, the art director of the ballet troupe of the Yekaterinburg Ural Opera Ballet, multiple laureate of the Golden Mask Russian National Theater Award.
According to the theatre's press service, the workshop will take place in the format of a competition. Participants will stage two numbers: a modern interpretation of the concept of "male dance" (at the same time, men and women can participate in the number) and a modern interpretation of Bashkir folk music.
As a result of the workshop, a gala concert is planned, where the audience will be able to evaluate the prepared performances. Bashkir Opera will invite the best choreographer for the project to stage a one-act ballet, which will be included in the theatre's repertoire.
Recall that the first season of the choreographic workshop took place in 2018.
