Bashkir puppeteers conquered Kazakhstan at Puppet Theaters International Festival

In the city of Aktobe (Kazakhstan), the sixth International Festival of Puppet Theaters "Assalaumagaleikum" ended, which included the performance of the Bashkir State Puppet Theater "The Ugly Duckling". The festival is dedicated to the Year of Children in Kazakhstan. Collectives of 14 theaters from Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan gathered to participate in the festival.

Young connoisseurs of theatrical art, all festival participants, and a panel of critics very warmly greeted the play «The Ugly Duckling» directed by Vadim Gabidullin. The actors of the performance received a diploma of the festival participant and a gift - a puppet made by craftsmen from the workshops of the Alakai Theater in memory of the Assalaumagaleikum festival.

At the festival in Kazakhstan, the performance featured People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Mindigayan Safina, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Lyalya Bulatova, Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan Gulchachak Mukhametshina, and actress Ilyusa Mukhitova made her debut in the role of Mother Duck.

“Upon returning from Kazakhstan, the Bashkir puppeteers will again go on a creative trip,” the press secretary of the theater Diana Garayeva said.  “They will again go to a festival, only now to the Republic of Chuvashia to participate in the Third International Festival of Puppet Theaters "Carousel of Fairy Tales" with the play "What Does the Ornament Sing About?" based on a play by Vladimir Anoshkin. The Carousel of Fairy Tales festival will be held in the capital of the republic, Cheboksary, from October 17 to 21.
