Bashkiria and Udmurtia theaters will exchange performances

The State Russian Drama Theater of Udmurtia (Izhevsk) will come to Ufa in September. These will be exchange tours with the State Academic Russian Drama Theater of Bashkortostan.

The performances will be held from September 23 to 25, the press service of the Ufa theater reports. The Udmurt Russian Theater will bring its latest performances staged in 2020-2021.

On September 23, the Udmurt Theater will show scenes from married life based on Leo Tolstoy's novel Alexei Karenin. Playwright Vasily Sigarev and director Konstantin Soldatov invite looking at this situation from a completely different angle – as viewed by Alexei Karenin. The performance was included in the long list of the "Golden Mask" festival 2021.

September 24 - Nightmares and sweet dreams "Viy/Beyond the Line" based on the works of Nikolai Gogol and Nikolai Pomyalovsky.

September 25 - "Scissors", a detective comedy directed by Paul Portner. “The play “Scissors” does not just blur the line between the stage and the audience. It gives the viewer the right to vote: the final of the detective investigation depends on the reaction of the public.

The State Russian Drama Theater of Udmurtia was opened in Izhevsk in 1935. Founded in the birthplace of the great composer Tchaikovsky, the theater develops and continues the best traditions of Russian art.

On the same dates, the Russian Theater of Bashkortostan will show in Izhevsk the vaudeville «A Harmful Element» by Vasily Shkvarkin, the lyrical comedy "While She Was Dying" by Nadezhda Ptushkina, and the twist of fate «HIs Way» by Yaroslava Pulinovich.
