On June 19 and 20, the Igor Moiseev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble will perform on the stage of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theatre. The team will arrive in Ufa as part of a tour dedicated to the 85th anniversary of its founding, the press service of the theater reported.
Created in 1937, the ensemble, known throughout the world as the Igor Moiseev Ballet, is a unique choreographic troupe whose repertoire carefully preserves the stage masterpieces of the great choreographer.
Igor Moiseev, combining the literacy of classical dance with folklore, created a new genre that was not included in the choreographic art before him - the genre of folk stage dance. Moiseev called it a plastic portrait of the people, silent poetry, and visible song.
Moiseev dancers will present a jubilee program at the stage of Bashkir Opera House that includes choreographic masterpieces recreating the culture of different peoples, customs, and traditions.
