Head of Bashkiria announced start of important stage in Shulgan-Tash museum complex creation

Radiy Khabirov, on his social media, asked the residents of Bashkiria not to be frightened and not to think that the authorities are dismantling the world-famous Shulgan-Tash Cave.

“We have started one of the most important and interesting stages in the creation of the Shulgan-Tash museum complex. We have already constructed a building for it, here it is, on the photo. French scientists began to recreate the interior of the cave,” the Head of the Region explained.

The museum is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022. Exact copies of rock paintings will appear there, which are located in the far room of the cave itself and are closed to visitors. The building area of ​​the museum complex is more than 4,000 sq. m, a quarter of which is occupied by the exposition. There will be a gift shop, and a cafe is also planned. There is also a conference hall with 144 seats for scientific conferences, symposiums, and lectures. It is also planned to open clubs for children.

Together with the museum, a large All-Russian center for the study of rock art will appear in Bashkortostan. This is the first scientific base of such a profile in the South Urals. Symphony concerts will also take place outdoors.
