Exact copies of rock art are installed in Shulgan-Tash museum complex

Installation under the supervision of the authors of the facsimile - restorers from France is carried out by the specialists of the company "Maket RF" and the staff of the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Shulgan-Tash Cave".

At the moment, specialists have completed the installation of two panels and have begun the third, which will be completed tomorrow by lunchtime. The panel "Horses and Signs" was the very first to be assembled, and restorers began to work on it. According to them, this is the most challenging facsimile despite the small size. Julie Golon is conjuring with a brush over it. On a panel with a camel, layers of calcite 3-4 mm thick must be reproduced, which requires painstaking work. It is necessary to convey transparency, and this again takes time. Therefore, Julie Golon is worried about whether they will meet the deadline. After all, guests from France need to complete their task before February 19.

To be sure of the impeccability of their work, the restoration artists made a short excursion to the Shulgan-Tash cave. They once again looked at the originals of ancient drawings and the rocky surface.

After completing the work of specialists from France, copies of the panels will be impossible to distinguish from the original. All three panels are installed in the "Rock Art" room, but at a distance from each other. After completing the exposition space and installing directional light, each panel will be seen in a special way, the creators of the Shulgan-Tash museum complex are sure.
