Opera singer Aigul Akhmetshina announced her debut in America
Our compatriot, opera singer Aigul Akhmetshina will debut at the largest theater in the United States - the San Francisco Opera. She will sing the part of Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. Performances are scheduled for September 25 and 28 and October 1, 6, 9, 11, 14, 2022.
The production involves an international cast of participants. The conductor of the performance is Vassilis Christopoulos; Canadian director Robert Carsen directs the performance. Evgenia Muravyova will play the role of Tatiana, Gordon Bintner will play Onegin, and Evan Leroy Johnson will play Lensky.
Aigul Akhmetshina is a native of the village of Kirgiz-Miyaki in Bashkiria, a graduate of the Ufa School of Arts (class of Naila Yusupova). Laureate of international competitions, including 1st Prize at the Hans Gabor Belvedere International Competition for Opera Singers, laureate of the New Opera World International Opera Competition, diploma winner of the Fyodor Chaliapin International Vocal Competition. The rise of Aigul Akhmetshina's world opera career began with an invitation to the Royal Opera House "Covent Garden" youth program. In 2017, Aigul made her debut in the title role in Rossini's Cinderella at a music festival in France. In December 2018, she made her debut in Bizet's Carmen at the Theater Royal, Covent Garden.
