Exact copies of rock paintings from Shulgan-Tash Сave arrived in Bashkortostan

The museum complex "Shulgan-Tash" received a long-awaited cargo from France. The leading exhibits of the museum - exact copies of three panels with rock paintings of the Shulgan-Tash cave, arrived in the Burzyansky region by road train.

A collection of reproductions of ancient drawings of the cave commissioned by Bashkortostan was made by the famous European artist-restorer Alain Dali's studio. Copies of the panel cannot be distinguished from the original. The restoration artists reproduced the smallest detail, the damage that was present on the rock base.

50 square meters of cave walls with rock art were reproduced. The panels "Horses and Signs", "Eastern" and "Western" will be placed in the largest exposition zone of the Shulgan-Tash museum complex.

As the Shulgan-Tash Cave Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve director Favzil Malikov explained, the road from the French Montignac to Bashkortostan took 12 days. The goods were loaded on January 21; the road train arrived in the Murat-Tugay area on February 2.

The French artists completed the order on time - the facsimile was ready in early December last year.

"The creators of the exposition and the installers prepared the places for the installation and fastening of the exhibits. Shelves with facsimiles were brought to the museum's storage facility with the help of a tractor. We begin assembling the cut fragments of the panel. We have to wait for the French colleagues to apply the finishing details. A team of art restorers consisting of Eudald Guillamet, Alain Dalis, Remy Requier, and Julie Golon will arrive in Bashkortostan in two weeks," Favzil Malikov said.
