Gala Yuri Grigorovich concert was held in Ufa as part of Nureyevsky Festival

Within the festival's framework, a special preview of Arif Melikov's ballet "The Legend of Love", which was staged in Ufa in 2016 by Yuri Grigorovich, was held. The part of Vizier was performed by Vitaly Biktimirov, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

The Gala Yuri Grigorovich was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding choreographer of the 20th century. The program included the most famous fragments of shows by the renowned choreographer performed by the masters of the ballet art of Russia. The concert featured lead dancers of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, Vitaly Biktimirov (Bolshoi Theater), and artists of the Yuri Grigorovich Krasnodar Ballet Theater, Honored Artists of the Kuban Alexei Shlykov, Elena Shlykova, Vladimir Morozov, Marina Fadeeva. Fragments of the ballets of the classical repertoire - "Swan Lake" and "Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky, "Vain Precaution" by Hertel, "Spartacus" by Khachaturian, "Raymonda" by Glazunov,  "The Legend of Love" by Melikov, "The Golden Age" by Shostakovich and "Stone Flower" by Prokofiev were shown to the audience.

The cooperation of the Bashkir Theater with the famous choreographer began in 1993. Working with the recognized master of ballet art, whose work made up an entire era in Russian and world ballet, brought inspiration and creative upsurge to the Ufa team. Today, seven productions by Yuri Grigorovich - "Vain Precaution", "Don Quixote", "The Nutcracker", "Swan Lake", "Le Corsaire", "Spartacus" and "The Legend of Love" are included in the theater's repertoire.

The Rudolf Nureyev International Ballet Festival has been held on the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater stage since 1993. Its founders were the outstanding choreographer Yuri Grigorovich and Shamil Teregulov, the chief choreographer of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater from 1990 to 2008. For more than a quarter of a century, the festival has been gathering the best representatives of the art, and for several days Ufa has become a real ballet capital. Since its inception, 22 festivals have taken place, in which collectives from Russia and abroad, stars of Russian and world ballet, have taken part. It featured various exhibitions, presentations, and round tables dedicated to the art of dance and premieres of performances. The festivals were attended by special guests, prominent figures of culture and art - choreographers, music critics, writers, and journalists.
