Bulat Yusupov's film "Visit" will be shown in Far East

It will be shown at the V.K. Arsenyev Museum of the Far East on October 27.

"Visit" is a feature short film dedicated to the outstanding ballet dancer, whose childhood was spent in Ufa, Rudolf Nureyev. The film was shot within the framework of a republican grant with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2014, the picture was widely shown at the republican box office. The film is based on one real episode from the life of Rudolf Nureyev. In 1977, a representative of the royal family of Jordan, Dina bin Abdel Hamid, arrived in Ufa on an official visit. Her true goal was a secret meeting with the mother of Rudolf Nureyev, who needed to convey a message from her son. This little-known fact from the biography of the dancer became known from the words of an eyewitness, Ufa resident Yavdat Iskuzhin.

The show will take place as part of an inter-museum exhibition project dedicated to Rudolf Nureyev, a world-famous ballet dancer. Exhibits tell the history of Nureyev's life and career from the collections of the Museum of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater, the V.K.Arsenyev Museum of the History of the Far East, the St. Petersburg Museum of Theater and Musical Art, and private collections. In his will, Nureyev asked to open his museum, but his property was sold after the artist's death. Only in 2008, the Nureyev Foundation donated several exhibits to the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, on the stage of which the artist made his debut: it was they that formed the basis of the exhibition.
