Uberlingen (Germany) hosted "Bashkortostan - Honey Land of Russia" festival

The regional public organization "Cultural and Educational Union of Germans of the Republic of Bashkortostan" Wiedergeburt "together with the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization for the Development of Social and Cultural Initiatives "Center for Intercultural Partnership" received a grant from the President of Russia in 2020 to hold the festival.

The festival featured photo exhibitions of folk art of the Bashkir people, national sports, items of Bashkir folklife, national jewelry, video presentations and master classes of folk art, Bashkir national sports games, and online competitions.

The festival opened with the presentation of the "Monisto" and "Bashkir Proverbs in Photos" photo exhibitions. The project is dedicated to the World Folkloriada.

On the same day, a screening of the documentary film "Kiselev's List" and a podium discussion took place at the Landesgartenschau exhibition site.

On August 8, 2021, the festival "Bashkortostan - the Honey Land of Russia" continued at the garden exhibition "Landesgartenschau" in Uberlingen. The round table "Bees as man's ecological and economic well-being" began its work in the "Green Hall".

The round table opened with the presentation of the "Apimondia - 2022 in Ufa" exhibition.

A short documentary film, "Whispering Bees: Russia - Forest Beekeepers of the Urals" (2018), was shown at the round table. The film was commented on by Martin Schweizer, Chairman of the District Beekeeping Association of Baden-Württemberg and Uberlingen. He spoke about beekeeping at the Boden See.

The round table was attended by scientists, teachers, beekeepers, and public figures from Russia and Germany. The issues of the state and development, as well as the problems of beekeeping in the regions, were touched upon, the Republic of Bashkortostan was presented as a leading region for the development of beekeeping in Russia, Russia was presented as the venue for the International Apimondia Congress of Beekeepers in 2022.

Masterclasses on Bashkir musical instruments, Bashkir crafts, and national sports were held as part of the Festival "Bashkortostan - the Honey Land of Russia". The program was closed with a concert of songs in Russian, Bashkir, and German, national rituals of the Bashkir people, and folk dances.

The audience was delighted with the playing of the national Bashkir instruments kurai and kubyz. German songs and musical numbers were performed accompanied by guitar, digital piano, and kurai.
