Don Quixote of Bashkir Opera Theater will be shown today on historical stage of Bolshoi Theater

On Tuesday, August 3, the premiere of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater "Don Quixote" by Jules Massenet will take place on the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia. A dress rehearsal of the opera is currently underway on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater. This is the directorial debut of the famous opera bass, Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the national opera prize "Onegin" Askar Abdrazakov, who sings the lead role.
The conductor is the People's Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the Russian National Theater Award "Golden Mask" Artyom Makarov. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Irina Filippova, who was responsible for the plastique of the performance, also spoke about the unique pleasure of working on the opera.
The main female role of the Beautiful Dulcinea, as well as at the Ufa premiere, in Moscow will be performed by the guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, Vienna Opera, laureate of international competitions Elena Maksimova, Sancho Panza - Honored Artist of Bashkortostan Vladimir Kopytov.
The first premiere shows of the "Don Quixote" opera took place on the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater stage in May of this year. They were sold-out and had excellent reviews from both amateurs and experts in the field of musical art.
The main role in this opera was intended for the great Russian bass Fyodor Chaliapin, who made his first professional steps in Ufa. Don Quixote's costume is a copy of Fyodor Chaliapin's costume in this role, made according to the sketches of Alexander Benois.
The preparation of the performance lasted 14 months; several hundred people worked on it. In total, about 400 costumes were made for the opera in the theater workshops according to sketches by the chief artist of the theater Ivan Skladchikov, and in addition to them - more than 200 headdresses and more than 100 pairs of shoes.
The choirmaster-director of the play is the laureate of international and all-Russian competitions Alexander Alekseev, lighting designer - Irina Vtornikova, who has been repeatedly nominated for the Golden Mask Russian National Theater Award.
