Folkloriada anthem in Ufa: Askar Abdrazakov sang for first time in his life on flying Firebird

Bashkortostan and Russia have written unforgettable bright pages in the chronicle of the CIOFF Folkloriada. Thus, the National Anthem of the Folkloriada was first performed on a flying mythical bird.

On July 3, 2021, Russian singer Marina Devyatova and Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of Bashkortostan Askar Abdrazakov, performed a solemn composition on the stage of the Ufa Arena Ice Palace at the opening of the VI World Folkloriada. The singer effectively appeared in the hall on a huge fairy-tale Firebird. This was the first experience of performing on a flying bird in his rich creative biography.

“Of course, the World Folkloriada is an event for the whole world, especially for Russia and for Bashkortostan. It is a great honor for us to host guests from nearly 40 countries worldwide who represent their culture. It was fascinating to perform at the opening of the Folkloriada because you sing the anthem, and the whole world is looking at you,” Askar Abdrazakov commented to Bashinform.

The folklore anthem sounded in Ufa for the first time. It was written on May 20, 1996, music by Anton Krapivshik. Then the international folklore festival was held in the Netherlands; in subsequent years, it was hosted in Japan, Hungary, South Korea, and Mexico.

Sketches and decorations for the grand opening of the Folkloriada - and the Bird, and the Moon, and the Sun, and the Lion, and ornaments - were made by the chief artist of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Ivan Skladchikov. The ballet troupe of the theater also took part in the opening of the Folkloriada.
