The 21-year old Michal Ovechkovich came to Ufa for the Folkloriada from Croatia; he performs in the "Busevec" ensemble - he plays the homemade bagpipe. Since childhood, the guy has been fond of handmade musical instruments - such a hobby he took after his father.
On Wednesday, their team performed in Yanaul, and there, the guy first heard the sound of a kurai folk instrument. In the first free minute, the musician was delighted and asked the organizers to let them hold the instrument and teach him how to play it. Miсhal was quickly found an instrument and a teacher - the director of the Yanaul People's Theater "Hayat" Salavat Khamzin volunteered. Not everything worked out the first time, but the teacher assessed his student as “promising”.
