Italian participants of Folkloriada played pensioner’s favorite song

The well-known Ufa restaurateur of Italian origin Elio Capiello invited a delegation of fellow countrymen who came to the Folkloriada to his restaurant: he cooked pizzas, pasta, prosciutto, opened a bottle of wine: “We need to support them, they are in a foreign country, they don’t know anything here,” he explains. “We agreed to meet on Monday. We could do it on Tuesday, but a football match: Italy – Spain was on Tuesday!

The meeting was attended by other Italians living in the capital of Bashkiria, among them a 76-year-old Giovanni Malta. He has been living in Russia for three years with his wife Venera and was so happy to talk to his fellow countrymen. Giovanni worked as deputy director of a telephone exchange, but he is also an artist at heart, so he sang 'O surdato nnammurato ("Soldier of Love") accompanied by the band. This is one of the most famous songs written in the Neapolitan language.
