President of CIOFF® Philippe Beassant arrived in Ufa for Folkloriada

The airport of the capital of Bashkortostan continues to meet the guests of the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF®. On July 1, creative teams from 16 countries of the world arrived in Ufa. These are Panama, India, USA, Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Romania, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Estonia, Costa Rica, Benin, Cameroon, Austria, Bulgaria, Indonesia.

The President of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Traditional Arts CIOFF® Philippe Bossan also flew to the republic on an official visit.

“It is great that Bashkortostan, Ufa, the Government of the republic have shown great support in preparing for the Folkloriada. Especially during the pandemic, it was very challenging. We chose Ufa because we know that it has extensive experience in organizing such major events, congresses, festivals. Both CIOFF in Russia and Bashkortostan supported all our activities. We are glad that the festival will bring together about 40 countries, and we will carry out this huge project together,” the President of CIOFF® said.

The Folkloriada will also be attended by CIOFF® Vice-Chairperson Cristian Hidalgo Mazzei. and UNESCO Representative Arthur Antille.

World Folkloriada is the main event of CIOFF®, held every four years. In Russia, the festival will take place from July 3 to 10 with the participation of about 1,100 artists from 37 countries. The festive festival program is envisaged in Ufa and 22 municipalities of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
