"VKontakte" became official partner of World Folkloriada

The social media VKontakte has become the official information partner of the World Folkloriada.

Users will be able to watch live broadcasts of the opening and closing events at this link.

Folkloriada is a kind of international Olympiad of folklore creativity. The capital of Bashkortostan is preparing to host about 1,500 participants from 43 countries of the world, including dance, folklore groups, national art ensembles, cultural associations, and youth cultural centers. The program includes the Heart of Folkloriada festival, the international CIOFF® conference on the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage, as well as the world's largest Round Dance with the participation of representatives of more than 200 nationalities, which is planned to be entered into the World Records Book.

The "Heart of the Folkloriada" festival, besides participants, will feature the invited world-renowned groups. Among them there is the ensemble "Russian Song", the State Academic Kuban Cossack Choir, the Chechen State Dance Ensemble "Vainakh", Russian singer Tina Kuznetsova and folk-project Zventa Sventana, the pipers' orchestra of Moscow, the Russian Eurovision participant, the singer Manizha, the rock bands Plantec (France), Ulytau (Kazakhstan) and The Hatters (Russia) State Folk Choir named after ME Pyatnitsky, Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra (Serbia).

At the international festival, viewers will be able to visit exhibitions of works of folk craftsmen, the photo exhibition "Musical Instruments of the Nations of the World", see the exposition "Masks of the Nations of the World", master classes, and traditional folk games.

Festival events will not be limited to Ufa. Folkloriada participants will go to 22 municipalities of the republic, where colorful costume parades, concerts, exhibitions of masters of decorative and applied arts, master classes, and national games of different nations will also be held. All venues will operate in the open-air format according to a single scenario.

At the closing ceremony of the World Folkloriada in Ufa, it is planned to hand over the flag of the Folkloriada to the next host country.
