On June 1, International Children's Day, the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater choir performed in support of the Ufa Hospice. The concert program included compositions of sacred music - the Second Liturgy by Alexander Grechaninov and Mass by Vladimir Cholak, and "Hallelujah" by Arthur Honegger.
It was managed to raise about 180 thousand rubles at the concert.
“This amount is preliminary, which came from the sale of tickets and those people who donated at the event. The entire amount will be directed to help the children's department of our hospital, namely, to purchase medical equipment, " Svetlana Nigmatullina, press secretary of the Ufa hospice, told Bashinform News Agency.
According to the chief choirmaster of the theater, Alexander Alekseev, the idea of holding a charity concert to help seriously ill children appeared a year ago, but due to the pandemic, its implementation had to be postponed and, finally, the project took place. The concert was listened to by the hospice wards Liza Gaifullina and Bogdan Yumagulov.
“Equipment for a child with an incurable disease is an opportunity to eat, breathe, sleep. We need oxygen concentrators, ventilators and NIVs, aspirators, consumables for enteral nutrition, and much more. The total amount for the children's department: over 11 million rubles. We are very grateful to the staff and the theater management for their initiative, ” Radmila Surnacheva, executive director of the Ufa Hospice, marked.
The first hospital in the region for children and adults with incurable diseases will open in Ufa in the autumn of 2021. The building is being erected entirely with charitable donations for the Mega shopping center.
