Ballet star, Rudolf Nureyev's stage partner Сarla Fracci died in Italy

In Italy, at the age of 85, world ballet star Carla Fracci has died. She was one of the partners of the outstanding ballet dancer and choreographer, our fellow countryman Rudolf Nureyev. The artist recently struggled with cancer, Izvestia reports.
Carla Fracci was born in Milan on August 20, 1936. She studied at the Teatro la Scala school with the Russian ballerina Vera Volkova. Carl Fracci became prima of the renowned theater in 1958. Her stage partners were such ballet stars as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, Vladimir Vasiliev, Andris Liepa.
During her career, Fracci has performed on the world's leading stages. In 2000-2010 she headed the ballet troupe of the Rome Opera, where she also staged performances. The ballerina continued to dance and teach. She held her last master class online in January 2021, when theaters were closed due to the pandemic.
Journalist Gulchachak Khannanova, who interviewed the famous ballerina, posted on social media: "Both times we talked with her about how glad we would be to welcome her in Ufa, in the homeland of her beloved partner, at the festival "Nureyev Seasons"- at the project, which was being prepared. Moreover, Carla Fracci always spoke of her readiness to make such a challenging trip in her age with her husband, no less legendary producer Beppe Menegatti."
Unfortunately, the trip to Ufa never took place.
