Archaeological Monuments Corpus of Bashkortostan to be published in Ufa

In Ufa, the Archaeological Monuments Corpus of the Republic of Bashkortostan is being prepared for publication. This is a scientific and reference publication that contains data on objects of archaeological heritage discovered in the republic in 2000-2020 and is intended for specialists in the field of cultural heritage protection, archaeologists, students, employees of administrations of municipal districts.

To date, the Research and Development Center on Protection and Use of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects of the republic has established cooperation with the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow). The latter provided a complete list of scientific reports on the conducted archaeological research in Bashkortostan from 2000 to 2019, stored in the scientific and industrial archive of the Institute of Archeology RAS. In addition, work is underway in the archives of the Bashkultnasledie on examining each act of the state historical and cultural expertise of land plots subject to economic development to identify archaeological monuments not yet registered. To date, the preliminary list contains data on 754 archaeological sites.

The Corpus will include data provided by archaeologists and other institutions. If possible, the research of all archaeologists who worked in the republic at that time will be taken into account.

The compilation of the Archaeological Monuments Corpus identified in the republic will allow updating the available information and will become an important part of the updated version of the "Archaeological Map of Bashkiria" planned by Bashkultnasledie and the Research and Development Center (the previous edition was published in 1976).

The Archaeological Monuments Corpus of the Republic of Bashkortostan, identified in 2000-2020, will be published by the end of the year.
