Matryoshka appeared in Ufa - "50 days to Folkloriada" countdown symbol

The countdown "50 days to the Folkloriada" was solemnly launched in Ufa. A large Russian Matryoshka in a Bashkir national costume appeared on the square in front of the Toratau congress hall. It has a digital scoreboard that reflects the number of days before starting the largest international event, which will be held for the first time in Russia - the World Folkloriada-2021.

The event very colorfully started within the First Culture Forum "ART-Kurultay" framework, which is taking place these days in the Bashkir capital. After a plenary session, 700 participants of the forum, together with the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and guests of honor, went to the square in front of the Congress Hall for a solemn ceremony.

The Russian tricolor flew over the audience's heads - three small aircraft from Pervushino staged an air show. Having made a circle over the Belaya River, the planes returned to the sky above the square to land several parachutists with the flags of Russia, Bashkortostan, and the Folkloriada. One of the parachutists gave the young participant of the holiday a symbolic gift - a small Matryoshka flying in the sky. The event continued on the stage, where the guests of honor helped to assemble the Matryoshka, which traditionally consists of several dolls.

"As you know, the Folkloriada was supposed to take place last year, and it had to be postponed because of well-known events. Therefore, we were ready already last year and very worried about whether it would work out this year. However, we believe that it can take place. 55 delegations are coming here; all of them have already been distributed among the municipal districts - the whole republic will welcome them, not only Ufa. We have created special concert venues, renovated squares, prepared hotels, and canteens. We have prepared new cultural performances dedicated to the peoples of the countries of the world. Therefore, we believe that this will be one of the brightest events. The Folkloriada takes place in the Russian Federation for the first time. It is a great honor and responsibility for us," the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov commented on the event.

Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Yarilova noted that it was impossible to overestimate the importance of Folklorida in terms of the cultural cooperation development between Russia and other states. Olga Yarilova emphasized the high readiness of our republic to host the event.

The concert program was attended by the groups "Argymak", "Uzoritsa", Zainetdin, Folklore song and dance ensemble "Miras". Also, the concert featured the Ambassador of the World Folkloriada, People's Artist of Russia, art director of the Russian Song Theater Nadezhda Babkina, and the Russian Song Theater.
