Bashkiria library will hold teleconference with International Space Station cosmonauts

For the first time in history, the All-Russian campaign "Library Night" will be started not only on Earth but also in space. On April 24, the Asyanovskaya rural model library, created in 2020 within the "Culture" national project framework, will join the All-Russian campaign "Library Night-2021" at 20:00 and take part in a teleconference with the cosmonauts of the International Space Station.

Library Night-2021 will solemnly open with the greeting of the Russian crew of the International Space Station. The members of the space expedition will convey their greetings to the participants of the campaign, saying the words: "Library Night, Let's Go!". The online broadcast of the event can be watched on the Kultura.RF portal.

Note that the Asyanovskaya Library received such a unique opportunity because, at the end of 2020, it was recognized as one of the best cultural organizations of the Republic of Bashkortostan, entering the top 4 best state and municipal cultural institutions of the federal portal PRO.Kultura.RF.

On April 21, at 1:00 pm, a test connection of the Asyanovskaya Rural Model Library to the Russian State Library took place. The staff explained how the teleconference would take place. Communication with the cosmonauts will take 20 minutes, the staff of the Asyanovskaya library will ask one question to the cosmonauts.

Library Night-2021, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the portal of "Kultura.RF", is timed to the Year of Science and Technology and is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight. It will be held under the motto "Book - The Way To The Stars."

As part of the campaign, libraries, literary museums, cultural centers, and bookstores of the country will hold special events for hundreds of thousands of readers, including lectures, thematic exhibitions, concerts, master classes, excursions, and meetings with interesting guests. This year, most of the events will take place offline in compliance with all the necessary sanitary and epidemiological standards.
