Matrix videography artist was invited to work on new ballet in Ufa

Andrew Quinn became a videography artist of Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater's new ballet, "The Light of an Extinguished Star". Every person in the world has seen the works of this artist from Australia at least once - it was he who created special effects for the films "The Matrix", "Tomb Raider", "Ink Soul", "Nirvana" and many others.
Now he specializes in multi-screen video installations in large spaces, including planetariums, as well as computer graphics for interactive dance and music projects, the press service of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater informs.
Due to the limitations associated with the pandemic, Andrew Quinn worked on the Ufa project remotely. The artist shared his impressions with the Bashinform News Agency:
"It was a great pleasure to work with an incredible composer and friend Nikolai Popov. His music has long been a source of inspiration for me, influences my views and artistic vision. This project was special and educational. I have learned a lot about the Republic of Bashkortostan's wonderful folklore, the Bashkir language, beautiful landscapes, and amazing national symbols. I have been creating special effects for films, international projects that use interactive technologies for a long time. By interactive projects, I mean both projects for large events and musical art in general. However, in the ballet "The Light of an Extinguished Star", I used a completely new technique when creating the visualization. I really hope that you will come to this premiere and enjoy this wonderful ballet! "
The libretto of the one-act ballet "The Light of an Extinguished Star" was written by Rinat Abushakhmanov and Nikolai Popov based on the Bashkir legend "Yuraktau". The premiere will take place at the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater on February 18 and 19.
