Dovlatov's 80th anniversary: street will be named in Ufa and "Craft" will be translated into Bashkir

Several events will be organized in connection with the 80th anniversary of Sergei Dovlatov's birth, an outstanding writer, journalist, native of the city of Ufa, in 2021. The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov signed the corresponding order.

The Ministry of Culture RB, together with the Ufa administration, was instructed to develop a plan of cultural and educational events for 2021 in order to popularize the works of Sergei Dovlatov.

According to the order, Sergei Dovlatov's story "Craft" will be translated into the Bashkir language.

The Akhmet-Zaki Validi National Library and the Writers' Union of Bashkortostan will hold the Republican Competition of Beginning Writers and Journalists "Literary Debut", an exhibition dedicated to Dovlatov and his time in state and municipal libraries of the republic.

The cinema "Rodina" will show feature films and documentaries dedicated to the work of Sergei Dovlatov.

The Ministry of Education and Science RB will hold cultural and educational events, events for students and youth.

The City Council will consider the issue of giving the name of Sergei Dovlatov to one of the new streets in Ufa,
