Exhibition of Bashkir National Costume International Competition "Tamga" has opened in Ufa

The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan has opened an exhibition of the International Competition of Masters of the Bashkir National Costume "Tamga" and the photo exhibition "Ethnorakurs". The exposition presents unique works of the best masters of the project.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova.
The first tour around the exhibition was conducted by a researcher of the ethnography department, a member of the jury Salima Usmanova. The exposition presents national costumes of the Bashkir people submitted for the competition. Authentic national clothes occupy the main part of the exhibition. Also, collections of modern women's clothing are displayed there.
As noted by Roza Yuldashbaeva, the author of the Khanumdar collection, the uniqueness of the collection from the high fashion point of view lies in the long-awaited creative tandem of a professional design approach and traditional hand-made embroidery.
Besides, at the exhibition, one can see a Bashkir warrior's attributes, traditional costume accessories, and jewelry.
The guests also visited the photo exhibition "Ethnorakurs", where unique works captured by famous photographers of the republic are shown.
The exposition will run until February 28, 2021. Also, masterclasses from the winners of the competition "Tamga" will be held as part of the exhibition.
The International Competition of Masters of the Bashkir National Costume "Tamga" was held for the first time in 2020. The project aims to draw attention to the unique values ​​of the traditional national costume, to its ethnic originality and diversity, combined with the modern fashion trends in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
