The libretto was written by Rinat Abushakhmanov and Nikolay Popov based on the Bashkir legend "Yuraktau*" - translated as "Heart-Mountain". The plot tells about the unhappy love of the hero Khanbulat and the girl Aikhylu, whom the evil Tiptegul decided to separate.
The performance acquaints the audience with our republic's rich heritage, culture, traditions, priceless melodic assets embodied in modern forms, and musical and choreographic art genres.
Choreographer-director - Rinat Abushakhmanov, production designer - Faniya Nizamova, lighting designer - Serdar Charyev, video artist - Andrew Quinn (Italy/Australia).
* Yuraktau is the northernmost mountain among the Sterlitamak Shikhans. Since 1985, it has been recognized as a natural monument of regional importance and is also considered a prehistoric monument.
Another one-act ballet, "What the Stones Are Silent About", also created by the tandem of composer Nikolai Popov and choreographer Rinat Abushakhmanov, will be shown the same evening.
The ballet "What the Stones Are Silent About" takes the audience to the stunning natural monument of Bashkortostan - the Shulgan-Tash Cave. According to the ballet's creators, Shulgan-Tash is one of the places where art was born, and the first artist was a beautiful girl who gave the descendants the mysterious images of the ancient world.
