"Genghis Khan-XXX" exhibition opened in Moscow for 30th anniversary of Ufa art group

The "AZ" Gallery of the Moscow Exhibition Halls association has opened the "Genghis Khan-XXX" exhibition, timed to the 30th anniversary of the art group, the permanent leader of contemporary art in Bashkiria.
The "Genghis Khan-XXX" exhibition in the "AZ" Gallery includes both new works of current members of the association, as well as works of the 1990s from the collection of the N. Latfullin Museum, as well as posters, photographs, publications, and early works of Nail Latfullin from the collection of the Sh. Mardzhani Foundation for Support and Development of Scientific and Cultural Programs.
Visitors will be able to see paintings by the "Genghis Khan" group from the late 80s to the present day.
The Genghis Khan group - "the most radical avant-garde group in the republic", according to the Encyclopedia of Bashkiria, is founded by Nail Latfullin. The group also included: Rinat Kharisov, Vasil Khannanov, Rasikh and Ildar Akhmetvalievs, Ildar Bikbulatov, and Miras Davletbaev. The artists quickly made themselves known with a major exhibition in the Leningrad House of Culture; several group members were actively exhibited abroad. After the death of Nail Latfullin, the group was headed by Vasil Khannanov, later the publisher of the only specialized magazine on art in the republic "VKh" and head of the N. Latfullin Museum of Contemporary Art.
Amid the audience's interest in painting, which returned in the 2010s, Genghis Khan has become one of the central phenomena of modern Bashkiria's artistic life. The last major exhibition of the Genghis Khan group in Moscow was held in 2012 at the Russian Academy of Arts.
The exhibition will run until February 14.
