Artist Salavat Fidai about Ufa: "This place has some power. I can create only here"

Ufa is called the new capital of Russian rap. Face, Thomas Mraz, and Morgenshtern are from here. What is the phenomenon of Ufa? The famous Ufa sculptor Salavat Fidai answered this question in an interview with Forbes Digest.

"This land has some kind of power. And it even drew me back from the USA. I can create, make something, be an artist only here. Zemfira, Shevchuk, Chaliapin, and Nuriyev - this land gave birth to many people. I think there is some power here that promotes creative inspiration and energy," Salavat Fidai said.

The artist showed a place that inspires him - the Art Kvadrat in the historical center of Ufa. According to him, it is this art space made by creative people that has a place for everyone who wants to express themselves.

Specializing in miniature sculpture, the artist carves celebrities and pop culture figures from graphite pencil rods. His works are in demand all over the world: they have been exhibited by museums in the USA, Great Britain, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries. People learn about the Ufa resident's art, first of all, from social networks - TikTok and Instagram.

Salavat Fidai shared his secret of success in a big interview, how he joined TikTok and earned a million rubles in a few months. The artist talked about how much it costs to order a pencil from him, who buys his art piece for 10 thousand dollars, where and by whom they are in demand. He shared his personal life and answered the eternal question: "How to become happy?"

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that Salavat Fidai hit the Top 10 TikTok authors for creating viral videos. The artist posts his work under the nickname @salavat.fidai and has gained over 11 million followers in a little over a year. The author stirs up users' interest with short videos demonstrating the process of creating his micro-masterpieces - Baby Yoda, Pennywise the clown, King of the Night, coronavirus, the iron throne busts of Putin and Trump, the Eiffel Tower. Some of them have millions of views.
