Finalists of Bashkir Costume International Competition "Tamga" are announced

The finalists of the "Tamga" International Competition of Bashkir National Costume Masters have been named in Ufa, the Ministry of Culture of Bashkortostan reports.

The bright and varied display of works took place in a stylized yurt on the square near the Toratau Congress Hall.

Participants demonstrated hand-made products and answered questions from the jury. The final of the large-scale project was attended by craftsmen, costume designers, and designers from Ufa, Tuimazy, Salavat district of Bashkortostan, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan regions, Moscow, and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The international competition of masters of the Bashkir national costume "Tamga" was held for the first time, on behalf of the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov.

As the Minister of Culture of Bashkortostan Amina Shafikova emphasized, representatives of about 10 regions of Russia and five countries took part in the international project. In total, about 300 participants. They presented almost 1,500 works to the jury.

The authors submitted their art pieces in five nominations: "Bashkir national costume - reconstruction", "Modern author's costume", "Children's costume", "Bashkir national jewelry," and "Accessories of the Bashkir traditional costume".

The chairman of the jury, general director of the Republican Center for Folk Art Artur Alibakov thanked the participants of the international competition and said that the name of the Grand Prix winner and first places would be known within the framework of events dedicated to the Day of the Bashkir Language in the State Concert Hall "Bashkortostan" on December 14.
