Premiere of one-act ballets "Neighbors" and "1418" will take place in Ufa
On November 15 and 17, the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater presents the 83rd theatrical season's premieres - the one-act ballets "Neighbors" and "1418". The performances were planned to be staged for the Victory's 75th anniversary in the Great Patriotic War but were postponed.
Both ballets were created by the Honored Artist of Russia, choreographer Ivan Vasiliev. The stories invented by the famous dancer are set to the music of Dmitry Shostakovich, as well as compositions performed by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald.
According to the press service of the theater, the theme of love runs through both performances. The life of the protagonist of the ballet "Neighbors" is filled with fun parties and adventures. However, it completely changes after meeting a beautiful, kind girl, and incredible love penetrates the young boy's heart.
The plot of the "1418" ballet is based on the Great Patriotic War events, which revive in the memory of its participants. And the number 1418 symbolizes the number of those terrible days. It is no coincidence that the new performance's musical basis is the immortal creation of Dmitry Shostakovich - the Seventh Symphony.
The production designer and costume designer for the premiere performances is the theater's chief designer Ivan Skladchikov, who created the decorations for the performances "Attila" and "The Little Humpbacked Horse" for #BashOpera.
