WOS brand designer was inspired by Bashkiria and created clothes collection

Andrey Artemov is a native of Ufa and the creator of the famous world clothing brand WOS (Walk of Shame). At Paris Fashion Week, the creative director presented the spring-summer 2020/21 collection. Moreover, his native Bashkiria inspired him to create a clothing line.

The designer remembered his childhood and used lace tulle elements and crocheted tablecloths, reminding the 90s, and turned the name of Ufa in the Bashkir language into earrings.

“The pandemic and quarantine made people think about their land, remember their culture, pushed them to return to their homeland. And in the end, it seems to me, all of this turned from negative stuff into a correct, positive, creative thing”, the designer explained in an interview with Vogue magazine.

There are things in the collection that Andrey treats with a particular thrill: this is a print with a kurai flower and a patchwork dress with long sleeves, where all types of cotton are blended. There is also a costume that combines two types of check - a reference to the waves on Bashkir skirts and the works of the artist Adrian Vescovi.
